[4/6/2016] Shohei Otani may have tweaked his leg while running the bases

Shohei Otani may have¬†tweaked his right leg as he rounded second base¬†in the sixth inning of a tonight’s game against Seibu. He was seen walking with a slight limp after he was thrown out at third base. He was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the ninth.

Otani was fine as he rounded second base in the sixth inning, but he slipped a little after the bag and was thrown out trying to get to third base. He lightly twisted both his ankles and was treated with ice immediately after the play. He was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning as a precaution. Both he and Hideki Kuriyama are saying he is fine.
