An umpire made a delayed call on a play during a Hanshin-Yomiuri game on April 6. The incident took place in the seventh inning with a runner on first and one out. Ryutaro Umeno hit a pitch to left and Daisuke Nakai made a sliding one-hop catch. Third base umpire Tetsuo Yamaji made a delayed call on the play that resulted in Takashi Toritani, the runner at first, getting thrown out at second on a force.
