Dai-Kang Yoh hurt his left ankle while running the bases in a game against Rakuten at kobo Stadium today.
Down by three runs with runners on first and second and no out in the fifth inning, Yoh hit an RBI single to center. An out later, he was at second when Kensuke Tanaka hit a sac fly to center to score the runner from third. Yoh twisted his left ankle when he tagged up and slid into third base. He was replaced by a pinch-runner and had to be helped off the field.

Yoh was examined at a hospital in Sendai and diagnosed with a left ankle sprain that will take about a week for a full recovery.

Yoh did not play in the Rakuten game on April 10 because of his sprained ankle. The Fighters are not expected to take him off the active roster. He will be traveling with the team for the Orix series that begins tomorrow. He will resume practices as soon as he is able to.
