Yoshitomo Tsutsugo hurt his right side when he struck out swinging during his at bat in the first inning against Chunichi at Yokohama Stadium on April 28. He was examined at a hospital in Yokohama today and diagnosed with a mild strain in his right internal oblique muscle. He was taken off the active roster on the same day.
Tsutsugo wanted to play through the injury, but the Bay Stars were concerned about long-term damage. He might be able to return in the minimum ten days.
