[5/9/2016] NPB discusses issues that come with the Olympics

The NPB held an executive committee meeting in Tokyo earlier today. A number of issues were discussed, including three main issues involving the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

  • The league may not be able to use Jingu Stadium for up to seven months if the Olympic Organizing Committee does not make changes to its request.
  • The league is uncertain if it should suspend the season during the Olympics.
  • If baseball does make a return to the Tokyo Olympics, the league may not be able to use stadiums near the Tokyo area.
