Sho Nakata tweaked his right leg when his foot slipped on the the first base bag while playing defense in the ninth inning against Seibu at Sapporo Dome.
With a runner on first and one out in the ninth inning, Nakata fielded a grounder off Shogo Akiyama’s bat and threw over to second for the force. He then ran to first base to finish a double play attempt but slipped on the bag and fell. He was removed from the game after the play.
Nippon Ham’s media relations representative informed the media that Nakata was taken out of the game because he extended his right hip. He is considered day-to-day.
