[5/18/2016] Japhet Amador goes 0-for-2 in rehab game

Japhet Amador (left wrist) played in a rehab game at Ni-gun today against Seibu at kobo Stadium. He was the starting designated hitter and batted fifth. He went 0-for-2 in two trips to the plate: F4, K. Amador was replaced by pinch-hitter Kenta Kurihara in the seventh inning.

  • Kenta Kurihara entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Amador in the seventh inning. He flied out to left and remained in the game as the new designated hitter. He flied out to right in his at bat in the ninth. Source: Sports Hochi 5/18/2016
  • Kenji Tomura entered the game in the eighth inning and gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits over two innings of work. This was his first game since April 27 (Ichi-gun against Nippon Ham at Sapporo Dome). Tomura has experienced some pain in his right elbow this year.
