[6/4/2016] Hiroki Kuroda serves up four home runs for the first time since 2000

Hiroki Kuroda gave up four home runs during his start against the Softbank Hawks at Mazda Stadium on June 3. Three of the four came in consecutive at bats in the third inning.

  • Kuroda has given up three home runs in one inning two other times during his NPB career: four in the first inning against Yomiuri at Hiroshima on July 31, 1999 and three in the sixth inning against Yomiuri at Hiroshima on June 30, 2007. The three he allowed on June 3 came in consecutive at bats in the third inning, a first in his career.
  • Kuroda has surrendered four or more home runs in one game three other times during his NPB career: four against Yakult at Jingu on July 8, 1997, four against Yomiuri at Tokyo Dome on September 6, 2000, and five against Yomiuri at Tokyo Dome on July 31, 1999.
