The Orix Buffaloes are planning to take Chihiro Kaneko off the active roster today after another bad start last night against the Chunichi Dragons at Kyocera Dome.
Kaneko has dropped three straight since picking up the 100th victory of his career on May 20. He has allowed fourteen runs (thirteen earned) on twenty-five hits and four home runs over 17.2 innings of work. The pitcher hinted that he was not pitching at 100 percent, but did not go into any specifics.
[UPDATE @ 4:45pm]
The Buffaloes took Kaneko off the active roster today with pain in his right shoulder. He had been dealing with some discomfort before he started having problems throwing at full strength during his last outing on June 9. He experienced similar problems last year in September and ended up missing about a month of the season (his condition is not as bad as this time around).
