Tetsuto Yamada hit a home run against the Seibu Lions on June 17 and became the fifteenth player* since the start of Inter-league play to hit home runs against eleven different teams in one season. Four other Yakult players have also hit home runs against eleven different teams in one season: Alex Ramirez (2006), Adam Riggs (2006), Aaron Guiel (2007) and Wladimir Balentien (2013).
Nine players achieved the milestone in 2005 and 2006 when Inter-league player consisted of thirty-six games. Seven between 2007 and 2014 when teams played twenty-four games. Yamada is the first since the Inter-league season was shortened to eighteen in 2015.
Yamada (his seventieth game of the season) joined Tyrone Woods (2008, his sixty-second game of the season) and Balentien (his fiftieth game of the season) as the only players to accomplish the feat before the end of Inter-league play.
* Accomplished seventeen times by fifteen different players.
