[6/22/2016] Seiji Kobayashi diagnosed with fracture in left shoulder blade

Seiji Kobayashi hurt his left shoulder when he hit by a pitch during a game against the Rakuten Eagles at Tokyo Dome on June 16. He made the starting line-up against the Chiba Lotte Marines the following day, but then missed the next two games.

Kobayashi was examined at a hospital in Tokyo and diagnosed with a fracture in the infraspinatus fossa of the left scapula (left shoulder blade). He was taken off the active roster today.

Kobayashi may not be able to return to the active roster until some time in August.

Kobayashi will require about three weeks for a full recovery. He might be able to make it back to the active roster in late-July.
