Yoshinori Sato (right shoulder) started a Ni-gun game against Yomiuri at Giants Stadium earlier today and gave up two runs (none earned) on three hits over five innings of work. He faced twenty-three hitters, threw ninety-eight pitches, walked two, struck out eight, and topped out at 151km/h.
Yoshinori retired the side in order in the first and second innings and racked up four strikeouts in the process. He gave up two unearned runs on two hits in the third inning. He walked two in the fourth, but managed to get out of the inning unscathed. He allowed a lead-off hit in the fifth, but did not get into any further trouble.
[UPDATE 6/23 @ 10:06pm]
The Swallows were satisfied with Yoshinori’s performance and are planning to add him to their seventy-man roster. He could make the active roster in time for a start during a three-game Chunichi series that begins on July 8.
