[6/27/2016] Garrett Jones blasts home runs in three consecutive trips to the plate

Garrett Jones blasted home runs in three consecutive trips to the plate against the Yokohama Bay Stars at Yokohama Stadium on June 26.

  • Jones is the first Yomiuri player to hit three home runs in one games since Alex Ramirez on June 29, 2010. He is the first foreign Yomiuri player to accomplish the feat in his first season since Warren Cromartie on July 4, 1984.
  • Jones is the thirteenth Yomiuri player (accomplished sixteen times) to hit home runs in three consecutive trips to the plate in the same game, first since Ramirez in 2010. He is also the third foreign Yomiuri player to hit home runs in three consecutive trips to the plate in the same game. The other two: Seung-Yeop Lee on September 16, 2008 and Ramirez in 2010.
  • Jones is the third player in the NPB to hit home runs in three consecutive trips to the plate in the same game this season. The other two: Jose Lopez on April 9 and Ernesto Mejia on April 24.
