[6/28/2016] Sho Nakata: slump, lower back tightness

Sho Nakata was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning of last night’s game against the Seibu Lions at Sapporo Dome. Hideki Kuriyama told reporters he went with a pinch hitter because Nakata developed some tightness in his lower back. However, it may have also had something to do with his current slump: 13-for-74 with twenty-five strikeouts in twenty games so far this month.

Nakata was not in the starting line-up tonight.
