Ryosuke Kikuchi hurt his left shoulder while playing defense in the sixth inning of a game against the Yokohama Bay Stars at Yokohama Stadium today.
With runners on second and third and no out in the sixth inning, Kikuchi mishandled a grounder hit by Toshihiko Kuramoto. He quickly recovered and managed to get the ball over to first in time for the out, but in doing so, tweaked his left shoulder.
Kikuchi was removed from the game on defense in the seventh inning and taken to a hospital for an evaluation. The Carp are still waiting for results from his tests, but he appeared to be in good spirits when he returned to the team hotel.

Kikuchi was diagnosed with a bruised left shoulder. He was left out of the starting line-up against Yokohama at Yokohama Stadium today.
