[7/23/2016] Yoshitomo Tsutsugo records third straight multi-homer game

Yoshitomo Tsutsugo recorded his third straight multi-home run game on July 22 and became the first player in NPB history to accomplish the feat. He is the sixth player (accomplished seven times) to hit six home runs in three games or less, first since Tomoaki Kanemoto in 2009.

Tsutsugo tied the Central League record for most two homer games in a month with five (Hal Breeden, May 1976). He set a new franchise record with seven multi-home run games this season. The previous record of six was accomplished four times, the last by Hitoshi Tamura in 2004.
