Hiromi Oka hurt his right leg when he ran out a double he hit in the first inning of a game against the Chiba Lotte Marines at QVC Marine on August 3. He remained in the game but was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the fifth because the pain was not going away.
Oka was examined at a hospital in Tokyo on August 4 and diagnosed with a strain in his right quadriceps. He will most likely require about three weeks for a full recovery. According to the Fighters’ chief trainer, he originally developed some time tightness in the area back in late-June.
