Shohei Otani threw about fifty pitches in the bullpen on August 9 and felt fine the following day. Hideki Kuriyama will continue to monitor Otani’s condition, but assuming no setbacks, his next start could come on August 21 against Softbank at Sapporo Dome. He could also make an appearance in relief during a three-game series against Orix that begins on August 16.
