Hiroki Uemoto hurt his right leg during Sunday’s game against the Yokohama Bay Stars at Koshien Stadium.
The incident took place in the eighth inning. Uemoto had a lead off second base and slid back into the bag on a pick-off attempt. He was safe, but tweaked something in his right leg on the slide. He appeared to be in a fair amount of pain and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher.
Tomoaki Kanemoto was asked about Uemoto during a post-game interview. He said it was a cramp and most likely not serious.
