[9/6/2016] Yoshio Itoi steals fiftieth base of the season

Yoshio Itoi stole his fiftieth base of the season during tonight’s game against the Orix Buffaloes at YafuOku Dome. The stolen base came in the seventh inning with runners on first and third with one out. Itoi stole second with Ryoichi Adachi up to bat.

Itoi is just the second player in NPB history to steal fifty bases during the year they turned thirty-five or older. The other player was Yutaka Fukumoto: fifty-four at thirty-five in 1982 and fifty-five at thirty-six in 1983.
