Alfredo Despaigne left Friday’s game against the Seibu Lions at Seibu Prince Dome because of pain in his left wrist. Despaigne hit into a double play in the first inning and grounded out to short in the fourth. He was replaced by a pinch-hitter for his third at bat after he told coaches his wrist was bothering him.
Despaigne was seen icing his wrist during practices. He told reporters after the game that he was taking big swings because it hurt more when he held back. He is considered day-to-day.
