The Hanshin Tigers announced today that Matt Hague returned to the United States to get treatment for his right shoulder. He is not expected to return to the organization next year.
Hague made the opening day roster, but struggled (15-for-62, .242/.364/.339) and was sent down to Ni-gun on April 18. He was recalled on May 19 (22-for-52, .423/.508/.538), but was again dropped to Ni-gun on June 6 (9-for-42, .214/.298/.357). He developed pain in his right shoulder in early August and has not played in any Ni-gun games since August 5.
