[9/14/2016] Ikuhiro Kiyota slated to return to active roster on September 17

Ikuhiro Kiyota was hit in the head by a pitch during a game against the Seibu Lions at Seibu Prince Dome on September 8. He was taken off the active roster on the following day because there were concerns he suffered a concussion. Since the Chiba Lotte Marines filed a concussion exception, Kiyota will be allowed to return to the active roster before the usual ten-day requirement, assuming he passes the NPB’s guidelines for concussions. He is currently scheduled to return to the active roster on September 17.

[UPDATE 9/15 @ 7:10pm]

Kiyota was added to the active roster today. He made the starting line-up in right and batted seventh. He was scheduled to return to the active roster on September 19, but the coaches sped things up because he looked fine and the doctor gave him the green light.
