Keio University’s Takuya Kato tossed a no-hitter against Tokyo University on September 17. He became the twenty-fourth pitcher (accomplished twenty-five times) to record a no-hitter in Tokyo Big 6 history; the ninth pitcher to record a no-hitter in Keio University history; and the thirteenth pitcher to record a no-hitter against Tokyo University.
Kato faced thirty-one hitters and allowed six to reach base (five walks and an error). He threw 129 pitches, struck out ten, and topped out at 149km/h.
At the plate, Kato went 1-for-3. He hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning that gave Keio an 8-0 lead.
