Yoshitomo Tsutsugo recorded three RBI during a game against the Hanshin Tigers at Koshien Stadium on September 17 and pushed his season total to 101. He is the thirteenth player (accomplished sixteen times) in Yokohama Bay Stars history to record 100 RBI in a season, first since Tony Blanco notched 136 in 2013 and first Japanese player since Shuichi Murata drove in 114 in 2008. He (turned twenty-five in November) and Tomio Tashiro ( twenty-four years, 1978, 104 RBI) are the only players in franchise history to record 100 RBI in a season by the time they turned twenty-five.
Tsutsugo is the seventh player (accomplished nine times) in NPB history to record forty home runs and 100 RBI before the year they turned twenty-six. Of the seven, only three are from the Central League: Tsutsugo, Sadaharu Oh (1963-1965) and Akinori Iwamura (2004).
