Kota Suda left today’s game against the Yomiuri Giants at Yokohama Stadium after throwing one pitch to Shinnosuke Abe in the seventh inning.
Suda was called into the game in the seventh inning with a runner on first and two out. He walked the first batter he faced, Hayato Sakamoto, then tweaked his left hamstring while throwing the first pitch to the next batter, Abe.
Suda appeared to be in too much pain to put weight on his left leg and had to be helped off the field.
Suda is slated to go to a hospital in Yokohama on September 26. He could end up missing the rest of the season.
