2017 Chunichi Dragons Coaching Staff Rumors

Hiroshi Narahara could be offered a job as a coach. He spent time in the Chunichi organization as a Ni-gun coach between 2007 and 2011. He was also teammates with Ni-gun manager Michihiro Ogasawara between 1998 and 2006.

The Dragons are thinking about offering Masanori Taguchi a job.

The media learned on October 2 that the Dragons have offered Masahiro Doi a job as head coach. Seiji Kobayashi might also be offered a coaching job.

The Dragons are planning to reassign Chief Batting/Non-Pitchers Coach Hideji Kato to Ni-gun.

Ichi-gun batting coaches will most likely Doi and Ni-gun Batting Coach Toshio Haru. Ni-gun batting coaches will most likely Kato and Ichi-gun Batting Coach Ikki Shimamura.

Shigekazu Mori has asked Roving Coach Omar Linares to help the team scout talent in Cuba. Since Mori will be busy with his new duties as manager, he will also rely on Domingo Martínez to do a lot of the scouting in the Dominican Republic.

The Dragons are planning to offer Fujio Tamura a job as Ichi-gun battery coach. He is not new to Chunichi: he spent five years in the organization as a catcher and battery coach between 2007 and 2011.
