Thirty-four-year-old Kazuya Fujita and thirty-three-year-old Koji Aoyama could exercise their free agent options depending on how negotiations go with the Rakuten Eagles.
Fujita told reporters he appreciated everything the Eagles did for him after they obtained him in a trade, but was also curious about testing the free agent market because it will most likely be his last chance.
Aoyama is thinking about all his options and will decide what to do after he has had a chance to talk to the Eagles.

The Eagles have asked Fujita to stay. He wants to stay, but also wants to find out if other teams are interested in him.
Aoyama has also spoken to the Eagles and is working to toward a decision by talking it over with his family.

Fujita is planning to stay with the Eagles. He told reporters on October 24 that he wants to play with his current teammates again next year and wanted to strive for another Nippon Series in Tohoku.
