September 22 against Chunichi at Tokyo Dome. Down 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning. With a runner on first and two out, Jones hit a walk-off two-run home run to center. He gave the Giants a 2-0 lead in the first inning with a single to left. The Dragons tied the game in the fifth and took the lead in the sixth. Jones is the first foreign Yomiuri player to hit a come-from-behind walk-off home run since Seung-Yeop Lee in 2006.
Kei Hosoya, Lotte (First Time)
September 24 against Orix at QVC Marine. Scored tied at three in the bottom of the tenth inning. With the bases loaded and no out, Hosoya hit a walk-off single to left. The Marines took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Buffaloes tied the game in the fifth and then took a two-run lead in the sixth. Lotte’s Shogo Nakamura tied the game in the bottom of the ninth with a two-run home run. The walk-off victory allowed Lotte to clinch third. The walk-off hit was the first of Hosoya’s career.
