The Chunichi Dragons announced today that they were not going to sign Tatsuro Hamada to a seventy-man contract next season. They will instead sign him to an Ikusei contract. They also announced that he had surgery to treat ulnar neurolysis in his left elbow.
Hamada started a rehab program after he started feeling a tingling sensation in mid-September. He decided to have surgery after his condition failed to improve. He is hoping to resume playing catch before the end of the year.
