Riseisha won its first Meiji Jingu Baseball Tournament
Yu Takeda (Riseisha) entered the game partway through the third inning. He did not allow any earned runs over 6.1 innings of work. He faced twenty-seven hitters, threw 106 pitches, gave up six hits, walked/hit five, and struck out seven.
Hisanori Yasuga (Riseisha) got the start at third and batted third. He went 2-for-4 with four RBI. He hit a three-run home run in the third inning.
Yu Katayama (片山 悠) was the starting catcher for Riseisha and batted seventh. He went 2-for-5 with four RBI. He hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning.
Kotaro Kiyomiya (Waseda) started at first and batted third. He went 2-for-3: HR9 one RBI, 1B9 one RBI, BB, HBP, F2.
Daiju Nomura (Waseda) got the start at third and batted fourth. He hit a two-run double to center in the third inning.
The winner of the High School division will head to Taiwan on December 23 to play a few exhibition games against local teams. Riseisha may not have enough players for the overseas series because of the timing (off-season). Additional players, most likely pitchers, will be selected from other teams to fill the gaps in the roster.
