Kyosuke Takagi was suspended for a year following his involvement in a gambling ring. His suspension ended yesterday, on March 21. The Yomiuri Giants told the media today that they received his application to return to the NPB. The Giants could submit their paperwork to the commissioner’s office as early as tomorrow. They are thinking about offering Takagi an Ikusei contract if he is allowed to return.

The Giants announced that they submitted an reinstatement application with the NPB commissioner’s office today. They also included a statement about their thoughts on his return.
The organization kept the lines of communication open with Takagi and are satisfied with how he spent his time over the last year. They are open to giving him another chance and are thinking about offering him an Ikusei contract, should he be reinstated.
