Ayumu Ishikawa dropped his third straight start this year and has allowed thirteen runs (eleven earned) on nineteen hits and nine walks over thirteen innings of work. The Chiba Lotte Marines are planning to send Ishikawa to Ni-gun for a tune-up.

Ishikawa is expected to pitch in three to four Ni-gun games. Assuming no issues, he could return to the active roster before the end of May (in time for the start of Inter-league play).

Ishikawa started a Ni-gun game against Rakuten on May 3 and tossed three shutout innings. He faced twelve, threw forty-six pitches, allowed one hit, walked three, struck out one, and topped out at 146km/h.
Ishikawa told reporters the outing was bad and that he was still unable to pitch his game.

Ishikawa is currently slated to return to the active roster in time for the three-game Softbank series that begins on May 23. He started a game at Ni-gun today.

Ishikawa started a Ni-gun game against Rakuten on May 16. He gave up a run on five hits over seven innings of work. He threw ninety-nine pitches, walked/hit three, and topped out at 149km/h.
