Takuya Nakashima hurt his left foot while running the bases during Friday’s (May 5) game against the Orix Buffaloes. He was examined at a hospital in Osaka today (x-rays, CT scan, MRI) and diagnosed with calcaneal bursitis (heal). He will most likely require two to three weeks for a full recovery.

Nakashima took infield grounders outdoors on May 27 for the first time since he got hurt. He is slated to begin base-running practices with cleats on May 28. If everything is okay, he will join the Ni-gun team on May 30 and participate in pre-game fielding practice.
