[5/8/2017] Yudai Ono reassigned to the bullpen

The Chunichi Dragons were planning to send Yudai Ono to Ni-gun for a tune-up after gave up three runs (all earned) over five plus innings during his last start on May 6 against Yomiuri at Nagoya Dome. However, Ono asked for a chance to work through his issues by pitching out of the bullpen. Shigekazu Mori agreed to the request and will try to give him as many opportunities as possible to pitch in relief.

Ono has made two relief appearances during his career.

  • 2015/10/07 vs Hiroshima – Masahiro Yamamoto retirement game, he took the mound after Yamamoto faced the first batter of the game.
  • 2012/10/03 vs Hanshin – he entered the game in the seventh inning and pitched two innings.
