[6/15/2017] Brandon Laird trips and bangs left knee

Brandon Laird left tonight’s game against the Chunichi Dragons after a rough fifth inning.

Laird was hit by a pitch on his left arm (near the elbow) with runners on first and second and two out. He left the field for treatment, but was able to return. Now with the bases loaded, Tomoya Ichikawa hit a ball to right that pushed two runners across the plate. Laird tripped as he rounded second and banged his left knee. He was replaced by a pinch-runner.

The Nippon Ham Fighters later announced that he was removed from the game because he suffered a bruise on his left knee.
