[UPDATE 7/4 @ 4:18pm]
The Dragons are still not sure when Viciedo will be able to return to the Japan. He may be having problems with his residency status since he spends quite a bit of time in Japan.
[UPDATE 7/6 @ 12:42pm]
The Dragons may no longer be counting on Viciedo for the first-half of the season. Chunichi official Kazuo Nishiyama told reporters on July 5 that even if the slugger were to return now, he would probably need a few games at Ni-gun to get back into form because of the time he missed.

[UPDATE 7/9 @ 11:12pm]
Viciedo may be close to taking the oath for his US citizenship. Assuming no major delays, he could return to Japan after the All-Star break. He will most likely spend a few days at Ni-gun and might be ready to return to the active roster in time for the Hiroshima series that begins on July 21.

[UPDATE 7/13 @ 3:04pm]
Viciedo returned to Japan on July 12 and visited the team offices in Nagoya on July 13 to provide officials with a status report and to hold a press conference. There was an issue with his residency because he was away from the United States for more than six months last year. He got tired of waiting and decided to come back to Japan because he wanted to return to his job and family. He will have to go back to the States at some point to finish the process.
[UPDATE 7/17 @ 5:18pm]
Viciedo played in a Ni-gun game against Hiroshima at Nagoya Stadium today. He started at designated hitter and batted clean-up. He went 1-for-2: walk in the first, two-out, two-run double to left-center in the second, and ground out to third in the fourth.
Viciedo was also added to the active roster today.
