Asia Professional Baseball Championship 2017 Preliminary Details

Samurai Japan released a few more details about the Asia Professional Baseball Championship that will take place later this year in November.


  • Tokyo Dome


  • November 16 (Thu) – Japan vs Korea
  • November 17 (Fri) – Korea vs Taiwan
  • November 18 (Sat) – Taiwan vs Japan
  • November 19 (Sun) – First place vs Second place

Note: Start times and home/away not yet set.


  • Champion – 20,000,000 yen
  • Runner-up – 5,000,000 yen

Base Rules

  • The designated hitter rule will be used for all games
  • The official WBSC baseball will be used
  • There will be no pitch limits
  • The games will be official WBSC games
  • Tie-break rules will be used if there is a tie after nine full innings
    • Beginning in the tenth inning: runners on first and second, no out
    • Preliminary Round games still tied after twelve innings will end in a tie
  • Starting pitchers will be announced the day before their starts
  • There will be no called games
  • Eligible players: born on or after January 1, 1993
    • Each team will have three over-age slots
