Yamato hurt his right side during yesterday’s (August 16) game against the Hiroshima Carp at Kyocera Dome. He recorded an infield single in his first at bat in the second inning and replaced on defense before the start of the third inning. The Hanshin Tigers told the press after the game that Yamato was removed from the game as a precaution because he felt some tightness in his right side. He was taken to a hospital in Osaka for tests.
Yamato was removed from the active roster today.

Yamato resumed playing catch on August 23. He also started running on the same day (he was up to jogging on August 22).
