[9/5/2017] Dennis Sarfate sets new NPB single-season saves record

Dennis Sarfate recorded his forty-seventh save of the season during tonight’s game against the Orix Buffaloes at Kyocera Dome and set a new NPB single-season record for saves. He entered the game in the bottom of the eleventh and retired the side in order – struck out Hikaru Ito on seven pitches, struck out Ryoichi Adachi on three pitches, and got Shunta to fly out to left on three pitches.

With twenty games left in the Softbank season, Sarfate has a realistic shot at reaching fifty saves.

I want to congratulate my former teammate, my friend and my brother in Christ, Dennis Sarfate for this great accomplishment! His hard work and dedication has been rewarded and God has blessed him for it. Well done my buddy. I am proud of you and will always be in your corner!
