The media learned on November 19 that thirty-two-year-old Yuya Hasegawa will have surgery on his right ankle. He will most likely require about three months for a full recovery. It is uncertain if he will be ready for opening day.
Hasegawa initially hurt the ankle while sliding into home during a game in September 2014. He had surgery on the ankle after the season in December.

The Softbank Hawks announced on November 21 that Hasegawa had surgery on his right ankle at a hospital in Fukuoka on November 20.
