Ryoya Kurihara headed to a hospital in Miyazaki after he hurt his left shoulder during fielding practice on February 20. He was later diagnosed with an anterior dislocation. He will report to the rehab group on February 21.

Kurihara has the option of having surgery to help his recovery. However, going under the knife will most likely mean he will be out until around September. If he relies on therapy alone, he could be ready for a return around June.

The Softbank Hawks announced today that Kurihara had surgery on his lfet shoulder at a hospital in Fukuoka. He will be hospitalized for two to three weeks and could require about six months for a full recovery.
