[4/16/2018] Giants first to ten losses, Bay Stars extend win streak to eight

The Yomiuri Giants dropped their game against the Hiroshima Carp 5-4 on April 15 and became the first team in the Central League to lose ten games this season. The last time the Giants dropped ten within their first fifteen games of the season was when they went 4-10 in fourteen games in 1947. They have now been the first to ten losses in the CL four times (1947, 1975, 2004, 2018).

The Yokohama Bay Stars beat the Chunichi Dragons 6-1 on April 15 and extended their winning streak to eight. The last time the Bay Stars recorded an eight-game winning streak was when they won nine in a row between July 15 and August 2, 2001. This was the first time the team put together an eight-game winning streak in April.

The Bay Stars also set a new franchise record by scoring the first run of the game in all eight games of their winning streak. Their previous record was seven in October 1950.
