Kensuke Kondo developed discomfort in his right leg while playing defense in the second inning of a game against the Chiba Lotte Marines at ZOZO Marine on April 28. He was replaced on defense in the third inning and taken to a hospital in Tokyo for tests.

The Nippon Ham Fighters announced on April 29 that Kondo was diagnosed with a mild strain in his right gastrocnemius. He is considered day-to-day.

Kondo was taken off the active roster today because the Fighters want to give him some time to heal.
