Nao Higashihama started a game against the Rakuten Eaglse at YafuOku Dome on May 25 and left after three innings because of discomfort in his right shoulder.

Higashihama was examined at a hospital in Fukuoka today and diagnosed with right shoulder dysfunction. There was no inflammation or muscle damage. Higashihama was having problems with the shoulder since earlier in the season. It finally got to a point where he started having difficulty moving his arm. The Softbank Hawks are uncertain how much time Higashihama will need for a full recovery.
