Jose Lopez hurt his right hamstring while running to first on a single to left in the fourth inning of a game against the Rakuten Eagles at Yokohama Stadium on May 29. He was replaced by a pinch-runner as a precaution and will be examined at a hospital on May 30.
[UPDATE 6/4 @ 3:54am]
Lopez returned to the starting line-up at designated hitter on June 3, but aggravated his right hamstring when he hit into a double play in the fifth inning. He was replaced by a pinch-hitter for his fourth plate appearance in the seventh inning.
Alex Ramirez told reporters they want to give Lopez a little time to heal. The Yokohama Bay Stars are planning to take Lopez off the active roster.
