Takayuki Kajitani was hit by a pitch near his right wrist during his first at bat in the second inning against the Yomiuri Giants on August 1. He was taken out of the game as a precaution and will be examined at a hospital. The Yokohama Bay Stars are planning to taken him off the active roster on August 2 because of pain and swelling.

Kajitani was examined at a hospital in Yokohama on August 2 and diagnosed with a fracture in his right ulna. He was taken off the active roster on the same day. Alex Ramirez told reporters he was uncertain how long Kajitani will be out and that he did not require surgery.
