Eigoro Mogi was hit by a pitch near his left calf during a game against Softbank at YafuOku Dome on August 16. He was later taken off the active roster with a bruised left gastrocnemius muscle. He started playing in Ni-gun rehab games on September 11 and was close to a return to the active roster until he hurt his left shoulder while diving for a ball during fielding practices in late-September.
The Rakuten Eagles were hoping to call him back up before the end of the regular season, but they are concerned about his shoulder. Depending on his progress, he might be able to attend the Phoenix League in October.
