The Yokohama Bay Stars announced that they reached agreements with Toru Komura and former Yomiuri Giant Daisuke Nakai. Uniform numbers have not yet been assigned.
Komura was originally drafted by Yokohama in the eighth round of the 2011 draft. He spent three years in their organization, but struggled with right shoulder problems and never made it to Ichi-gun. He retired after he was released by Yokohama in 2014 and remained with the team as a batting practice pitcher. He left the Bay Stars after 2015 and signed with the Shikoku Island League’s Ehime Mandarin Pirates. He spent two seasons with Ehime and played for the BC League’s Toyama GRN Thunderbirds this year.
Nakai spent ten years in the Yomiuri Giants organization and posted a slash line of .244/.301/.351 over 345 games.
