Japan blanked Canada 10-0 in the Final round of the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup for their fifth straight championship. Ayami Sato went the distance for Japan and recorded a two-hit shutout. She was named MVP and Best Starting Pitcher.

[8/13/2016] Tiara Cup Miyagi Tournament canceled

The Japan Women’s Baseball League announced on August 13 that they decided to cancel the Tiara Cup Miyagi Ishinomaki Tournament on August 20 and 21 because they felt players were not ready to perform at an acceptable level due to their recent tight schedule. The games will not be made-up at a later date.
